Stu Goodis - Guitar Instruction
|
|
|
Are you interested in learning music? I've been teaching guitar for more than 20 years. As a teacher, I've dedicated myself to understanding the learning process. I believe each person requires an individual approach to studying guitar and I create a different learning environment for each student.

| My students range in age from 10 to 75 years old. I have taken beginners and advanced them to higher levels of musicianship. Many of my students were accomplished players when they came to me but were searching for a new insight to guitar playing. | |
| One very important aspect of study I focus on is the need for musicality in everything that you practice. You should never practice something that doesn't sound or feel musical. Even when you work on technique it can be done in a musical way resulting in a more enjoyable practice session rather than making it a tedious effort. | |
| Recordings are a big part of the lessons. Each week I give a CD of songs and personalized recordings related to the lesson. As songs are learned I record my students playing them. This allows them to have a collection of their own recordings. | |
| Another aspect of learning I stress is interaction with other musicians. I match students with similar style and level for group lessons. | |
| Once a year I host a recital for all my students to perform. | |
| Are you interested in playing jazz? I've developed an approach to playing and understanding jazz. Check out my sample lesson for "My Romance". It demonstrates my approach to learning a jazz standard. | |
| Over the years a few of my students and clients have written testimonials about my teaching. Here are a few. | |
| Currently I am teaching in the city of Anaheim Hills in Orange County, California. You may contact me by phone (714) 501-4494 or by email. Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to hearing from you. | |
